Otaku Anonymous, or OA, is an underground, super secret society which was originally centered on Anime, hence the old subtitle "Secret Anime Society." This society now has members placed around the world, but mostly holds weekly meetings in it's hometown's University, UW-Eau Claire. While Anime is viewed at most meetings, it is not a requirement. The organization primarily works as a social society for those who are members. So, it's Like a Club? No. Like a Secret Society. No, like a club. That wasn't a question. And no, not like a club. If you want to join an Anime Club, I'm sure UWEC's Anime Appreciation Society would fit you better. OA is an attitude, a way of life, and well... a bit different. Once you join OA you never can leave it. Does Otaku Anonymous have any rules? Click Here For the Ancient Codecs of Otaku Anonymous That wasn't really helpful. I know - but as we've technically never overturned them, just like British law, it's technically on the books... And that still wasn't a question. Do you have actual rules? We have customs and traditions. The only one held to firmly is on age: You must be at least 18 years old to be a member, or must return to us a signed permission slip (which OA will produce for you). How does one join? You are granted membership into OA if you attend two meetings. That's it. On your second meeting you will be given your new name. My new name? Yes. Like what, Steve? THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE STEVE! But anyways, no. In your naming ceremony you will be given ten seconds to choose your name. If you do not come up with your name by then, one will be chosen for you. If you choose one that is rejected by the group, the group may override your name. Uh, okay... that's odd. Why do you do that? We're Otaku ANONYMOUS. It's the Anonymous part. Those rules before mention four people - Tubo the Wonder Krunk, Trae, Vinnk, and Meep. Who are they? They are four of the early members of OA. Two others include Cat and Cecil (The one True Steve). They are the ones who lit the darkness, and uncovered the secrets of Edwin. Those four in particular formed the original Executive Board. The Exec Board would also include Cat and Cecil at various times as well. The Exec Board was dissolved several years ago, although Cecil still holds the title of Vice President for combat purposes. Vinnk was voted eternal leader of OA, though he currently resides in exile. Edwin is our Patron Diety. OA is also known as the Secret Cult of Edwin. What? Edwin is Patron God of the Single and the Geek. If I told you more though, I'd have to kill you... or at least make you eat lunch with Chuck-Dave. If you're a secret society, why do you have a webpage? ...uh... LOOK OVER THERE! When do you meet? Ah yes, an actual question. During the University Academic year we meet every friday night (during the summer we have official events, but not as frequently). We do setup and Videogames at 6pm, and then begin viewings at 8pm. Where do you meet? Not telling. That's the challenge - you have to find us to join. So, what do you do at these meetings? We watch things. Sometimes anime, sometimes not. So - anime... you mean like Dragon Ball Z and Naruto, right? Urge to kill... rising... ummm... NO. WE DO NOT WATCH THOSE SHOWS. I know we sound elitist... but you should understand, we don't think there is something wrong with you for liking it, we just don't agree with you. DBZ is just Training and Constipation, and Naruto is just DBZ with better character design. Comprende? I heard you guys secretly take over organizations in a slow attempt to conquer the world. Is this true? I cannot confirm or deny that rumor at this time. |
